🧨 What Happened

During the Canelo vs. Crawford event, we experienced two coordinated waves of malicious requests targeting our core infrastructure.

Despite our multi-layered defenses, a critical hardware component responsible for decoding video frames was physically damaged due to the overload. This component, managed by a third-party provider, required replacement, which delayed full service restoration.

🔧 What We’re Doing Differently to Prevent This

To strengthen our resilience going forward, we’ve already implemented the following:

• Redundant decoding hardware distributed across multiple secret regions
• Improved protection against malicious traffic spikes, with faster automated mitigation
• Better coordination with third-party vendors for emergency hardware response
• Earlier detection and rerouting systems to minimize future downtime impact.
